DUI Arrest - What to Expect

Police can stop you for suspicion of drunk driving under a number of scenarios.

If you are here, it is likely that you or a friend/family member has been charged with a DUI. You went out over the weekend, had a few extra drinks, and were either pulled over or stopped at a checkpoint. You were given the field sobriety tests, you gave a breath or blood sample, and you were sent home knowing a Summons would arrive in the mail. Now what???

Your best option is to call our law firm. We will schedule a time in the near future for your to come by the office for a free consultation, you will bring all of your court papers, and we will begin to assess your DUI case and your options. We will listen to what happened and evaluate your defenses: Did the officer have a legitimate reason to stop you? Was the checkpoint legal? Did you really fail those field sobriety tests? Did you properly submit to chemical testing? Was the chemical test taken in the correct time period? Was the machine calibrated properly?

We will also look at your Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) and your prior offenses. We will explain in simple terms what penalties you are looking at if you are convicted based on your BAC, and whether you will go to Jail. We will also evaluate all prior offenses and make sure the Commonwealth does not penalize you more than they are legally able to. If you have no prior offenses, no accident, and no Minors in the car at the time of your DUI, you should be ARD eligible. This is a process that allows you to complete some programs, have a brief license suspension and walk away without a permanent record. We will take the time to explain this process, including its pros and cons.

Ultimately, we will not only help you through this scary process, but also help you to understand what is happening. We will explain all of your options, whether good or bad, and help you reach an informed decision for your specific situation. The Attorneys at Morrow and Artim keep a limited case load so that we may provide you with individual attention and make sure that we do not miss a defense that could mean the difference between an acquittal and jail time. We do not strive to merely represent you, we strive to represent you perfectly.

At Morrow & Artim, we offer a no cost, no obligation review of your DUI or criminal law matter via a short telephone consult or an email reply.
